Aims

The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion is an interdisciplinary research enterprise based at St Edmund's College, Cambridge. In addition to academic research, the Institute engages in the public understanding of science and religion by means of Courses, Conferences, Lectures, Seminars and the Media.

The Faraday Institute has a Christian ethos, but encourages engagement with a wide diversity of opinions concerning interactions between science and religion, without engaging in advocacy. It aims to provide accurate information in order to facilitate informed debate.

Services and Resources

The website is well constructed. There are many sections between which we point out:

  • “Events”, that contains the description and the logistic information about courses, conferences, seminars and lectures.
  • “Research”, with a list of projects and their reference.
  • “Resources” (media, articles, reviews, books). The section includes a link to the website “Test of Faith”, including a series of introductory resources on science and Christianity for both adults and young people, with contributions from leading scientists and theologians.

It is also available an online-shop to buy multimedia, books and the “Faraday Papers”.

We point out the section Faraday Kids very uselful for the education of children from 2 to 11 years old.
